Mark 12:30 so love the Lord God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence and energy.’

Loving Him requires action and thought. What am I passionate about? Love HIM in those things.

My prayers…. Love God. My thoughts, ideas, inspirations…. Love God in them. My energy, such as it is…. Love God.

Jesus, precious Jesus. Let my love for you come out in everything that I do, let my love for you be radiant. As I create, imagine, and develop my entrepreneurial spirit, let my love for YOU, the Creator of all…. Shine. Let my thoughts first turn to prayer in everything.

I've loved God my whole life and have always known that I was called to serve Him. As a young woman, I went on missions trips, led worship, went to bible studies, all of the things a good Christian girl does. I married a childhood friend from church, and together we served in ministry at a few different churches and started our family. After fourteen years of marriage, in March of 2010, when I was four months pregnant with my fourth child, the beautiful life that I had strived to create, came crashing down. I now find myself, a little more than a year removed from that painful day, divorced, raising and homeschooling four kids on my own, and trying to navigate all that that entails. I have come to realize that everything I thought I knew, I didn't. My story is painful and extreme; marked with a web of betrayal and deception, the stuff of a made-for-TV movie. I didn't expect THIS to be my story, but it is, and God knew it would be. Rather than glorify my story however, my desire is to glorify the amazing God who has been with me every day of my life, even the darkest of days. The God who has comforted me, put me back together, resurrected dreams that I had all but forgotten, and has turned my sadness into joy. My journey of healing is far from over, my heart-break not even a distant memory, but I can see the evidence of something beautiful being created from the ashes of my life. My prayer is that these devotions will encourage you, renew hope within you, remind you of who God is, and help you on your path to healing, as they have me.
